HOW
Israel was chosen by God to bless the whole world. Similarly in this modern day and age, God has chosen Malayalees, in a special way, for world evangelization. As a result, they were sent to nearly all the other states in India, and to almost every foreign country. Following this, God aroused their spirituality through the Charismatic Renewal. Today this renewal is fast spreading, to places such as Europe, America, Africa, the Gulf, and to other Middle East countries. This is God’s wonderful plan.
These people wished to do something for the kingdom of God in their respective countries, and some worked individually, unfortunately making their efforts fruitless, due to the lack of proper vision and direction. Prayer groups and communities that started with much enthusiasm, have slacked off. The absence of a supporting community has caused many to lose their drive.
It was at this juncture that Shalom was inspired by God to form a fellowship of those people who had supported the ministry all these years, through prayers, financial contributions and distribution of their publications. Thus came forth “Shalom Peace Fellowship.” (SPF)
Shalom Peace Fellowship is a community of people with a common vision for the Lord and His Gospel. As individuals, we may not be able to do much for the Lord. But a mighty transition occurs when we work together in the ministry. Things that were once impossible for individuals and institutions are now accomplished through the honest and committed work of small loving communities with ordinary people. Even impossible things will be possible if the energy, money and prayer that were previously scattered are directed towards a clear and common purpose directed by our Lord. Herein lies the relevance of SPF.
Take for instance a person who spends Rs.1000 every month towards evangelization activities. There is a limit to the extent of work that can be done using that money. On the other hand, if 100 rupees is collected from a thousand people every month, towards a common goal with a clear vision, we get one lakh rupees for evangelization activities. Therefore the person who had contributed only Rs.100 is also doing evangelization work worth one lakh. In the same way, when 1000 people pray together for an impossible task, our lives gain much spiritual strength. Therefore, we welcome all to become part of this evangelization fellowship to do great things for God.
A bulletin titled “Shalom Messenger “ will be sent to members of SPF for their awakening and spiritual growth free of cost. The contents of the magazine will entail the experiences and ministries of the members from different countries and regions.
THE MEMBERS
Anyone can become a member of the SPF. They should have an earnest desire for world evangelization, and the kind-heartedness to support Shalom financially by contributing at least a small part of their tithe. They can also leave the fellowship as and when they desire. Moreover, the person must be willing to pray for the various ministries of Shalom, and for all the other members in the fellowship.
OUR MISSION
Start publications that will help invoke a spiritual awakening and a spirit of evangelization in every prominent language and country. (Shalom will lend its support in every way to begin publications under the initiative of the fellowship members of the respective countries.)
Start TV channels and radio stations exclusively for preaching of the Word of God in different languages. (We presently have a 24/7 Malayalam gospel channel called ‘Shalom Television’.)
Use all avenues of the internet (i.e., webcasting, podcasting etc.)
Enhance and maintain the existing ministries and activities of Shalom
Create a worldwide intercessory network
Mold members towards participating in different ministries such as preaching, intercession, leading, prayer groups, charitable work etc.
THE MODE OF WORK
After the initial establishment of SPF, regional chapters will be opened, enabling SPF members to participate in Church activities under the banner of Shalom. Regional chapters will be given the copyrights of Shalom publications to be distributed in their respective regional languages.
BE WITH US
If God anoints a ministry, then those who support and co-operate with that ministry will also receive that anointing. Shalom’s ministries never evolved out of human thought. It flourished through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. When you become part in this ministry with faith, love and utmost joy, God’s grace will surely be showered upon your family and ministry.
